Latest Fishing Charter

The weather looked a bit bleak early Saturday morning, however we decided to venture out and have a look. the weather turned out to be very fishable, a steady 14knts from the west gave us a nice drift. We fished a sand/rock edge in 50m looking for some nice winter Pink Snapper, within minutes we were into loads of small Pinkies either just under sized or just over, great fun but there had to be bigger ones futher along the edge. The next drift produced a nice meter long Hammerhead Shark and several 6 - 8kg Samson Fish, but no big Pinkies. Next spot… a nice sized lump about 50m into the sand, three rods loaded up simultaneously. several minutes past before the first fish came aboard. Thats more like it, a 760mm Pink Snapper followed by a 780mm and then another 760mm. The tide was changing and the bigger fish were on the chew. The next drift was better, one 1300mm Samson fish and another 5 Pinkies between 730mm and 880mm. Next spot, a wreck for some Samson Fish jigging, three drops on the wreck produced 13 Sambo’s on jigs ranging from 8kg to one horse weighing 19kg. Looking forward to next weeks charter.

Town Jetty running hot

New commer to town “Gary” has been giving the Town Jetty a good work out, his last night on the jetty was full of action. Ceck out this thumping 13.6kg Mulloway he landed on the weekend. Nice fish Gary .

Shore Based Pink Snapper

20 - 30kn winds, 3 -4m swells and early mornings are perfect conditions for shore based Pink Snapper in Jurien. A 10.2kg Pink Snapper was caught off the Town Jetty on the weekend and yes we have photos to prove it. Last week during those wild storms, 4 “mad” keen anglers bagged out on Pinkies off the Southern Marina Wall, pinkies are renound for entering the Bay through out the winter and this year it has started early.

Sambos in the Marina

Friday afternoon was full of action in the marina, 15kg plus Sambos were smashing baits off the Boatlifters jetty. The boys had a blast catching and releasing these monsters in shallow water.
